Detox to Retox (Sunday Funday)

A few days ago I watched Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. If you haven’t watched it yet, you should. It charts the amazing journey of two men who go from being morbidly obese and needing massive amounts of pills every day to going through a 60-day juice cleanse and curing themselves. It was incredible and if you haven’t watched it yet, you should – yeah Netflix!

Anyway, it made me wonder if I should be eating cleaner. But I know that I wouldn’t be able to maintain such a lifestyle. I have been thinking about another 5-day juice cleanse. I have tried Blueprint twice before but may go with Organic Avenue this time.

There’s a reason why my blog is called “Yoga and Doughnuts.” I need that balance. I can workout and eat salads for lunch and cut out my orange juice and drink nothing but water all day. But when one of my oldest friends asks me to brunch with her mom, I can’t say no.

Today I went to Flywheel at 10:30a and then brunch at Fig and Olive in Meatpacking. We had amazing drinks and pancakes and some more drinks and more crostini than I can count. But it’s all balanced in my mind, heart and mid-section.

This is how I do Sunday Funday. And it was good.
