Weekly Workouts (June 8th)

I was supposed to try out The Movement on Monday – I canceled late. I was supposed to go back to Yoga Shanti on Tuesday (to take a class with Heather Lilleston, who I love) – I canceled late. Luckily, I took the day off work on Thursday so I was able to go to Bikram as planned. And I made it to my usual Saturday and Sunday classes as well.

Someone told me this week that I should move away from yoga, adjust my priorities. I will adjust my schedule. But my priorities are just fine, thanks.

It’s all good, though. Gives me a chance to get back into my home practice and maybe try some different classes. I keep looking at ClassPass but between my work obligations, my husband’s schedule and my mom’s own classes (she is 80 and takes martial arts twice a week) it’s just not panning out. This coming weekend, my credits expire at Bikram Yoga East Harlem so I will continue with my classes there. As for the rest of the week…

I bought a book on yoga sequencing and set my alarm for 6AM every day. I am going to try to plot out my own Vinyasa flow, see how it goes. I’ve been practicing long enough, I feel like I should be able to put something together on my own.

Not super exciting, I know. But hopefully, at the end of it, I will have my own yoga practice to do at home. Which is super exciting to me. Wish me luck.

  1. So, I took a page out of your book. I’ve dedicated myself to a 30 day Yoga challenge.
It’s not as commited as you are; only 30 minutes or so a day. Last night was the first night and it was amazing. Lucky for me I found a really good series on youtube.com; it was all about finding my peace, my center and stretching.

I’m glad I ran into this blog, which gave me the idea and I’m glad that I found the 30 day series. I felt like this is really me time, I’m doing something for a better me. Not just wasting away watching tv.

    Thank you. 🙂
