The truth is, I love Entenmann’s Doughnuts. I don’t buy them more often because they come in a pack of eight and I have been known to eat all eight in one day. But I have never seen this variety pack before. And I have an obligation to you, dear reader, to report the truth. And the truth is, these are damned good!
There really isn’t a big difference between the one on the top left and the one on the bottom left. The sprinkles don’t have much flavor nor do they offer a lot of crunch. Both are vanilla cake with chocolate frosting.
The one on the bottom right is a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. The chocolate cake is much more moist than the vanilla ones. It seems that the moisture of the doughnut helped with the freshness of the glaze. There’s a little sugary crunch that I can’t place but that helps with the experience. Yum!
The top right is my favorite Entenmann’s Doughnut of all time. Their regular crumb doughnuts were always my favorite. But these chocolate cake crumb doughnuts are moister. And then there is the crunch of the glaze and the crumbs themselves. It’s a good thing there are only two in the box. I really do have a hard time controlling myself with these doughnuts. Deep breaths… Each one has 250 calories and I just ate the equivalent of two. I. MUST. STOP!
The doughnuts were all so amazingly fresh. Their sell-by date is July 7th – just over a week from today. I wonder if all Entenmann’s Doughnuts are this fresh one week out? The research will have to continue! Double yum!
